” Dallas, Texas –
On September 21, Peace Pilot will light up the Texas Night with a large scale
video projection across the exterior and interior walls of the Interfaith Peace
Chapel in Dallas, Texas, in an open, community-based celebration of
International Peace Day.”

This press release will continue after my note below;

More pictures will be added
If you are in Dallas, make the time to visit this beautiful interfaith chapel at 5910 Cedar Springs Road in Dallas, its peaceful in there… years ago, I felt the same at the Baha’i lotus temple in New Delhi.

About the peace chapel on their website, http://interfaithpeacechapel.org/

The Interfaith Peace Chapel is a modern masterpiece designed by award-winning and world-renowned architect Philip Johnson. It is a brilliant, inspirational design of “sculpture as architecture.” Seating up to 175 people, the chapel provides ideal space for intimate worship services, commitment ceremonies and memorial services.
This sacred space makes a bold and highly visible statement to the world about our commitment to the vision God has placed upon our hearts. We believe wholeheartedly that God will transform millions of lives through this building!”

A year ago in Dallas Morning News, I wrote about the Peace Chapel
http://nabsites.net/demo/texas-faith-religion-and-ar/

My role was to greet and share the pluralism prayers.

1.
Essence of greetings

A.
Acknowledging the stranger
B. Inviting the other to connect with you
C.
Possible friendship
When
you say Namaste to someone, you are essentially saying, let the good in you
connect with the good in me. When the Abrahamic faiths call Salaam, Shalom and
peace to you, they are initiating a relationship with peace. May you be drenched
in peace, soaked in peace and together we will talk, think and act peace. It is
conditioning each other for creating good acts and talks. (elaborated in the speech)
2.
Greetings – Request to remain silent, or repeat after me quietly or in Chorus
American
– Aho piva (Cheyenne)
Baha’i – Allah-u-Abha
Buddhist – Buddha
Namo
Christian – Peace to you
Hindu – Namaste
Jain – Jai
Jinendra
Jewish – Shalom
Muslim – Salaam
Sikh – Satsri Akaal
Wicca –
Blessed be
Zoroastrian – Hamazor Hama Asho bed

I hope within the next decade we all will grow up to be comfortable in greeting each other with any one of the greetings as synonyms.

3.
Prayer
  • Dear
creator. Please accept our gratitude in every name we call upon you; Mahio,

genderless, we take you as a being as well as nonbeing, some us have a name for
you and for some you are nameless, but together we believe we are one universe,
    one people and one humanity.

    under you.

has to live in apprehension of the other, we are painfully aware of the
ignorance, fear, mistrust and ill-will that divides us, help us open our hearts
and minds towards receiving each other.
  • Dear
God, guide us to become conflict mitigaters and good will nurturers.

    every moment of the day.
  • Help
us learn to respect the otherness of other in each one of us, and accept the god
given uniqueness in each one do us.
  • In
    your precious name we bow

Peace Pilot Presents International Peace Day 2012
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Dallas, Texas –
On September 21, Peace Pilot will light up the Texas Night with a large scale
video projection across the exterior and interior walls of the Interfaith Peace
Chapel in Dallas, Texas, in an open, community-based celebration of
International Peace Day.
Peace
Pilot
is a monumental video art
installation by Dallas artist Trayc Claybrook, comprised of four high
definition videos, which depict a hero’s journey towards peace. The Interfaith
Peace Chapel is an architectural gem by renowned architect Phillip Johnson,
which for one night will serve as a massive movie screen for the Peace Pilot
video projections.
Doors
open at 6:00 PM, followed by an introduction to the guest speakers at 7:00 PM,
and the official lighting of the video installation at 7:30 PM, as well as a
screening of the videos inside the chapel. There will be a Q & A session at
8:00pm for the speakers and filmmaker.
Peace
Pilot
is currently raising funds
to support the September 21 event, through the crowd-sourcing website Indiegogo
(indiegogo.com/peace-pilot), and welcomes tax-deductible donations.
Peace
Pilot
began as Trayc Claybrook’s
response to a call by Jeremy Gilley of the international organization Peace One Day, who urged people across
the globe to create events in recognition of International Peace Day 2012.
Claybrook visited the Interfaith Peace Chapel, and was struck by the beauty and
grace of the structure.  She sparked the
idea of projecting her recently finished videos about peace on the exterior and
interior walls of the building.
We would be very honored for you to attend and participate in this meditation with us. We’re also asking for your help to promote the event through social media. Information about the film maker and project along with a clip of the film can be found at www.peacepilot.org.

Shouldn't Bush support Romney as Clinton supports Obama?

Comments Off on Shouldn't Bush support Romney as Clinton supports Obama?

It was good to see President Clinton bat for Obama; he puts things in perspective for people to see clearly what is happening. He has turned things around for Obama in the convention, and is doing that now hitting Sunday morning political shows.

On the other hand, either Romney or the mainstream
Republican Party is keeping former President Bush at bay, what a shame!
They did not even want to see President Bush Jr., or senior
in the convention, of course President Bush pre-empted them by saying he can’t
make it, even before a possible ask.

Romney has a whole lot of Bush men working with him,
including Rove. The Democrats will hit him hard as the time gets closer, “Governor
Romney, were you embarrassed about your former Republican President?”  Did you realize that the men and women
surrounding you are the same group of embarassers?
Most moderate Republicans were banking on Romney’s
moderation, including me, but Romney slipped, he assumed the only way to get
elected was to turn to the right, who did have a good record of turning around
in 2010, gaining a majority in the house.
What Romney failed to see was, as he has failed to see so
many other things, that the Republicans dumped radicals like Santorum, Cain, Gingrich,
Bachman and their likes, none of them fit in the common good criteria.  If Romney was any smart, he would not follow
the path of those who were rejected. He can still dump them, but that would be
too much flip flop.
In one breath he says he is not obligated to include
nearly half of America, after getting caught, he starts saying I want to
represent 100%, there is no shame in him.  He was against gay marriages and now the opportunist
saw the power of GLBT lobby, and will say something else. He jumps on our Cairo
Embassy statement and labels it apology, he did not even check the facts and
jumped the gun for sheer political advantage, he did not give a shit about the
security of Americans overseas.  The man
does not have the balls to stand his own ground, or his own principles.

Muslims don't get it – free speech and legitimacy of voilence

Comments Off on Muslims don't get it – free speech and legitimacy of voilence

MUSLIMS
DON’T GET IT

The Legitimacy of Muslim protests about the film ‘Innocence of Muslims’ and the
freedom of speech are major issues facing the world today. I am pleased to
offer a summary of issues and pluralistic solutions. If you feel hatred towards
them, you are clearly justifying their hatred towards you. We all have to rise
above it and mitigate conflicts and nurture goodwill. That was the message of
Jesus, Muhammad (pbuh) and every spiritual master. We cannot have peace, unless
we contribute to it, we cannot have peace, if we aggravate it.

More Fatwas on the way on Anti-Islamic film maker

Comments Off on More Fatwas on the way on Anti-Islamic film maker
There is no shortage of
opportunists in the world. No one has exclusive monopoly on being an idiot;
members of every race, religions, nationality and ethnicity are in this game
together, particularly the politicians. This essay is about a $100,000 bounty
offered on the head of the anti-Islamic film maker from Pakistan. Iran would be the next one to issue.
Mirza Ghalib is an Indian poet
who has written a couplet on every possible situation in the world. Here is a
couplet on this situation in Urdu/ Hindi language;
“Bewkoofon
ki koi kami nahin ghalib,
Ek dhoondho hazaar milte hain.”

There
is no dearth of idiots O Ghalib,
Look for one, thousands will emerge.

Humor first. Some 40
years ago, I read in Shama Magazine  about a boat that was violently
rocking in the middle of a storm in the Atlantic Ocean near Bermuda, everyone
was scared to death and were desperately panicking. One man stands up in the
boat, his friend says, what the hell are you doing? He says, “Praying”, the
friend laughs, you are the worst sinner in the world, and
you believe in prayers? The man tells him to shut up and stands up
anyway, and calls every one to join him in the prayer.

After a long spiel, he says Dear God, we seek your help, please calm the waters
down and save our lives….

Fifteen minutes later, the storm subsides and the boat safely reaches the
coast, after everyone got off the boat, they fell on this man’s feet and
praised him to no end… you are a saint, you are a man of God… and on and on,
and the man was basking in the lavishes.

His friend pulls him over and
screams in his ear, you liar, what if the storm had sunk us all?

The smirking chimp responds with a smile – then no one would have been there to
question me, right?

The moral of the story is – a
cunning man, Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, a minister in Pakistan is offering a bounty
of $100,000 on the maker of the Anti-Islamic film.  He has got nothing to lose but gain from it because that bounty is as good as asking God to help win the
Mega Million lottery.

New York Times reports, “A Pakistani cabinet minister on Saturday offered a $100,000 reward for
the death of the person behind the anti-Islam video made in the United States
that has roiled Muslims around the world, even suggesting that Taliban and Al
Qaeda militants could carry out the killing.

The next one in line would be President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, who is losing out
in Iran with the sanctions, and the only way out for him is to show to his
people that he fears no one but God, and he will get a fatwa issued on the film
maker as if it is a heroic thing, and a few will fall for it.

A few idiots in American politics
may be hatching schemes to turn Obama upside down, and may get a few fake
threats issued by the numerous,  dime a dozen repugnant radical Al-Qaeda
type of gangs, upon which I hope Obama will not act in-judiciously to prove
that he is macho man.

Romney may have nothing to lose like that man on the boat, and say, “If I am
the president, I will bomb them to Oblivion” and make Obama look weak. Romney may win my support, if he were to say, “If I am the president, I will
emulate President Obama, and chase those bad individuals and get them, just
like the President got Bin Laden and Awalaki, instead of bombing the countries
to smithereens and screwing up America, and American economy.” Would he do
that?

I urge men and women on the
right, particularly Limbaugh, Coulter and my friend Sean Hannity, not to make a
political capital out of this. It will encourage more chaos, and it is not good
for America. Let Romney and Obama fight on their character and abilities. Let
the best one for America win. I am a Republican and I want the best man (at
this time, next time, I pray it would be a woman) to run this nation. Romney
has a lot of explaining to do to come close to Obama at this point. We do need some one who can turn things around or at least not screw it up.

President Obama and Hilary Clinton did not apologize to any one over the
violent incidents in the Middle East, they simply pointed out to the Pakistani
public through their adverstiments videos that the movie was disgusting, that
we respect the sentiments of people of faith. The movie was not supported by
America, it was made by a looney and we have to freedom in our country.

We have to watch out for the fatwas and the political schemes and not react unnecessarily, its a game to them and we don’t need to get sucked into the fakies.

Texas Faith: Religion and the right to free speech

Comments Off on Texas Faith: Religion and the right to free speech

http://nabsites.net/demo/texas-faith-religion-and-right-to-free/

Freedom of Speech is understood in two different ways; one group believes that irresponsible statements must be controlled and censored by the government, whereas the other group believes in complete freedom of speech.  It’s an alien idea for us, the Americans to imagine that Government can control free speech.

Of course, freedom of speech is an inherent value of all religions, without which no religion would have come into being, or would have flourished. Islam and Christianity are the biggest beneficiaries of that freedom.
A few representatives of Islam believe in killing the person who insults the prophet, though they sound like loonies, they are not. They are (mis) guided by the books, not the Quraan, or the Hadith (sayings of the prophet), but the books written up in the last 100 years. They have a solid back up in those books, no amount of talking or quoting Quran will do any good.
Hold it, we cannot write them off, we need to work with them for the common good, and we have to be inclusive in finding sustainable solutions for the benefit of all. What is good for Muslims has got to be good for others and vice versa to sustain the goodness.

The hypocritical righteousness permeates in all religions; no one has a monopoly over it. This past week, I have become an Ambassador of American value in engaging with people from around the world in explaining the ultimate common good that freedom of speech facilitates. I used the phrase “Freedom of expression ultimately triumphs”, as a corollary to Mahatma Gandhi’s “truth ultimately triumphs”.
I have written a few pieces, but was asked by many to write a full paper on the topic with the intention of finding short and long term solutions. I wish I was an Ambassador to the Middle East to seek, initiate and get the Muslims scholars to issue opinions (fatwa) to be delivered in Friday Sermons across the Muslim lands, it would have handled the short term solutions. I am writing the paper to produce long term solution and seek your thoughts to be included as a quote. I am asking people of different faiths to pitch in their thoughts.

Please remember our suggestion must encourage people to consider replacing the old books with the new, they need to see the value in it.

To give a general idea of where I am going, here is my weekly column at Dallas Morning News

TEXAS FAITH: Religion and
the right to free speech
The situation in the
Mideast and North Africa has been fluid the last week, and no one knows how
exactly events will turn out. But it is clear that a clash of values is
sparking at least part of the conflict. As our editorial said last week, if not in Libya, then
certainly in Egypt and Yemen, we have seen yet another clash between religion
and free speech.
One side saw their faith
being defamed and believed that justified a violent response. The other side
believes that free speech protects even idiotic films.
This isn’t the first
time we’ve seen this kind of conflict. We saw it, for example, after a Danish
cartoon lampooned the Prophet Muhammad. And we probably will continue to see
this tension between religion and free speech.
With that in mind, here
is the question for discussion: If religion is about
ultimate values, doesn’t it stand to reason that some will see it as trumping
the right to free speech?
MIKE GHOUSE, President, Foundation for Pluralism, Dallas.
Clash of values is an
appropriate phrase in this particular context, it is just not the Muslims, but
the entire world differs with us on the value of freedom of speech. It’s an
American value and not necessarily a western or a Christian value.
This last week, I have
become an Ambassador of American value in engaging with people from around the
world in explaining the ultimate common good freedom of speech facilitates. I
used the phrase “Freedom of expression ultimately triumphs”, as a corollary to
Mahatma Gandhi’s “truth ultimately triumphs”.
Thanks to Google for turning
down the request to yank the film clip on Innocence
of Muslims
from YouTube.  I hope this sends a message to Muslim
nations that even the President of America cannot meddle with the freedom of
speech guaranteed in our constitution, a good solid enduring system of laws.
So, it is not America, it was the individual who made the movie. Most Americans,
including American Muslims have condemned the trailer and the idiot who made
it, but are willing to defend his right to the free expression.
However, we must value the responsibility
of the state to protect her citizens, and if this is what it takes to save the
lives of Americans elsewhere, it may be considered as a short measure. In
long run, however, we must not compromise on free speech that is a God given
right and hallmark of civilizations.
Most of the world has laws
restricting the freedom of speech, Europe is no exception. One of the most
common challenges I have encountered is restrictions placed on, and the
punishment prescribed for questioning the Holocaust.
If religion is about
ultimate values, doesn’t it stand to reason that some will see it as trumping
the right to free speech?

Indeed, if we lived in exclusive societies of a particular brand of Muslims,
Jews, Christians and others, their brand of religion would trump the right to
free speech. Thank God, America is God’s own country and diversity is an
anecdote to extremism.
After so much destruction
and ill-will, the Mufti (chief clergy) of Saudi Arabia and the Brotherhood have
issued statements that it is un-Islamic to do harm to people and property in
the name of the prophet.   The problem
with the Muslim world is they do nothing when problems erupt, but American
Muslims have responded instantly with advice and condemnation.

I am writing a paper on finding
sustainable solutions to the clash of values.
Shamelessly Islamists like Maududi, Banna and others have cooked up
books that declare if someone insults the prophet, he can be killed. Over a
period of time, we have to replace those books systematically ( through mutual
agreements and consensus, no impositions).
There is a clash of
ignorance, as Imam of the Ismaili Muslims; HH Aga Khan explains it in another
situation. In this particular situation what the Quraan and the Prophet call
for is different than it is practiced. A segment believes that if someone
insults the prophet, he should be killed, whereas the majority believe in
freedom of faith, the God-given freedom and believe killing one person is like
killing the whole humanity. The majority also believes that your mind your
business and I do mine.

The only good news is that
the ones involved in the violence were less than a 10th of 1% of the
populace.
Muslims have failed God,
prophet and their religion. Quraan (5:32) is  clear – Killing one person is like killing the
whole humanity, and saving one life is like saving the whole humanity.  We need to get them and not others. Why
should a religion be responsible for your bad acts?

Prophet Muhammad said, “if you are unjust to a fellow being, Muslim or a
non-Muslim, by God on the Day of Judgment, I will stand against you and stand
up with the victim.” That was a strong warning that these criminals did not
heed.

Those who murdered Ambassador Christopher Stevens and his staff members, and those
who are vandalizing our embassies were purportedly defending the name of
Prophet Muhammad, but have done the exact opposite of their intention; tarnish
the name of the prophet.

Muslims have failed God,
prophet and their religion.

Do I want Romney to be my President? Hell No!

Comments Off on Do I want Romney to be my President? Hell No!

I am a Republican and I want the best for America, just as a Democrat or any American want. Candidate Romney has crossed the lines of decency by calling fellow Americans as free loaders. There is a pattern with him and may be he can repent and come back in 2016. He has made too many mistakes to support him. I place America first and do what is good for every American and that is the right thing to do.

I am usually tempered; I’ll come loose now with the new Romney video. He does
not even want to ask nearly half of the Americans to vote for him? He said he
does not count on 47% of those Americans; do I want him to be my president? Hell
no, he is president for his own buddies and not for Americans.
Those investors listening to this divisive talk
will write big checks, with a clear intention of doubling on their return on the
investment. You buy Romney now; he will offer tax cuts should he become
president of the United States. Romney is smart and they are too… but who gets
screwed? It is you and I who cannot buy him with big checks.
Romney will sell America. The man is
secretive on taxes, money in Swiss banks, and now scheming and carrying on
secretive conversations. Should we trust secretive presidents?

Romney is itching to go to wars to please his buddies who gain from it, and who
would lose?  When was the last time CIA
or Mossad were right in providing truthful information about wars? Haven’t they
been wrong since 1979? The guys with vested interest have their own safe
heavens, but the loser is the average American with loss of jobs.
Wars will make us weaker, it will ruin our
economy. It will keep Israel eternally insecure, and we will live with guilt
for the Injustice meted out to the Palestinians. Netanyahu does not represent
the will of Jewish people, be it in the US or Israel. None of these guys care
about America or Israel except their own well being. He will go to war with
Iran to appease and enrich his buddies.
Which Romney?
Romney is an appeaser, and will say different
things at different times to different people. Which Romney would you be voting
for, if you did? The one who wants to curb the liberties of women and
gay/lesbian communities? Is it the one who says that government should be off
the back of the women? Is it the one who claims to believe in the constitution
but meddling with religion of others?

Obama will win these elections hands down.

I’m a Republican and am embarrassed and outraged with our leadership, (and
never the party). In the next cycle I’ll be involved with the party and
persistently scream and make an effort to straighten them out.

America first!

 We
need checks and balance with no party having overwhelming majorities. I’ll do
my share of finding the solution to decency and dignity in governance. We the
Republicans need to save the party leadership from extremists, lunatics and
secretive guys and we need to learn to place America first and not the party.

Ghouse on Sean Hannity – what is democracy

Comments Off on Ghouse on Sean Hannity – what is democracy

Mike Ghouse and George Birnbaum, former Chief of Staff to Bibi Netanyahu, joined Sean to discuss the situations in Libya. “Mike, you’ve said that we just need to give more time to the Muslim brotherhood and other radical islamist groups,” began Hannity, “Why do we want to give them more time.” “The bully in us wants to bomb everyone,” offered Ghouse, “But we have to look at the outcome of that and that is that it would create more violence.” “What bothered me is that we’re calling all these movements, Democracy movements,” offered Birnbaum, “The American Revolution wasn’t a Democracy movement, it was a freedom movement and what we’re seeing now isn’t a Democracy movement, it’s just a power grab.” As the race for the White House continues on toward November, it’s going to be critically important to follow these foreign policy stories because they’ll dictate t he future of America and her allies for decades to come.

How Should We Respond?
In the wake of recent attacks to U.S. Officials in Libya, Sean spent some time this week talking about how we should respond. Sean sat down with Mike Ghouse and Brigitte Gabriel to talk about the ways the United States can respond. “They do not deserve our money,” an angry Gabriel offered, “They do not deserve our money and they do not deserve our support and it’s time for our president to stand up to a bunch of thugs who are attacking us like this.”

Ghouse took a slightly more forgiving stance saying, “I condemn what has happened in Libya, killing our ambassador is not acceptable, if you look at our own democracy though, it took many years to stabilize the democracy but it is in their blood right now.” Sean spent some time this afternoon on Twitter, flushing out details with Dana Perino about a potentially great new plan for the United States.

He wrote, Good Idea @DanaPerino – Sending the occupiers to go “talk” and “reason with the anti-American protesters in Egypt, Libya, etc. In all seriousness though, we should be looking to our leaders in Washington for answers and a plan, something that doesn’t seem to be coming very quickly.

SEAN HANNITY, HOST: I think what is important to look at is
that the dramatic footage not only demonstrates that radicalism is still
prevalent in the Middle East, but it exposes a clear and present danger to
Americans both here and abroad.

In other words, the war on terror is ongoing.
Look at these live pictures.
They are out of Cairo. Thousands of protesters are hitting the streets.

Let me bring in Middle East experts Michael Ghouse and Brigitte Gabriel. You
know, Michael, all throughout our argument that we have had as the Arab spring
was unfolding, you told me over and over again that things were going to work
out and democracy was going to emerge. I told you that the Muslim Brotherhood
was going to take over. They first got parliament and they said Israel is their
number one enemy.

Will you now agree with me that I was right and you were wrong on this
particular issue?

MIKE GHOUSE, AMERICAN TOGETHER FOUNDATION: Brother Sean, as
somebody called you today. I will agree with you on that particular, specific
issue, but I don’t agree with other things. First of all, I want to extend my
prayers for the bereaved families and condemn what has happened in Libya,
killing our ambassador is not acceptable —

HANNITY: You told me the Muslim Brotherhood would be
moderated by the military. That’s not true, Michael.

GHOUSE: Sean, if you look at our own democracy, it took many
years to stabilize the democracy. It will tame take some time. It is sad, it’s
happening, but let’s give them some time, Sean. Democracy is in their blood
right now —

HANNITY: Give them some time as they rip down our flag and
the radicals take over and put up an Al Qaeda flag. Michael wants me to give
them some time.

GHOUSE: No, Sean, let me — Romney was wrong —

BRIGITTE GABRIEL, ACT FOR AMERICA PRESIDENT: We are not
going to waste any more time! We are casting our pearls at the feet of swine at
this time. They do not deserve our money. They do not deserve our support. It’s
about time our president stands up as a man and stands up to a bunch of thugs
destroying our reputation and attacking us like this! This is the home of the
brave, not the land of cowards. And we need a president who is a brave man to
stand up against our enemy and stop squandering our money on people who don’t
deserve it!

We gave them enough time. Now it’s time to act. I urge everyone watching this
interview to go to actforamerica.org and get involved in taking back our nation
and putting America’s head back up high and speaking as the land of the brave!
It’s about time to act.

HANNITY: Brigitte, maybe the president should have showed up
at a few of his intelligence — daily intelligence briefings, which liberals
made such a big deal about when George Bush was in the White House, which George
Bush actually attended on a daily basis.

Maybe — he can identify them as radical Islamists, which they are. That
seems to be missing in Fort Hood — that’s the common theme this. This president
will not say the word radical terrorist. He will not say war on terror. It seems
to me that is pathetically weak.

GABRIEL: Sean, it is pathetically weak. Sean, we found out
the Egyptian intelligence knew September 4 that there will be attacks against
the United States Embassy. If the Egyptian intelligence knew that, how come our
president did not know it? Did he miss the briefing when they informed him about
the embassy going to be attacked?

This is not news. This is not new. We knew the embassies are going to be
attacked. How come our government is putting our people’s lives in danger,
overseas in a country where we know they are not protecting our people?

This is why it’s the job of the president and the job of the people to hold
him accountable to say that we are facing an enemy that is radical Islamist and
the flag they raised up is not an Al Qaeda flag. It’s an Islamic flag that was
invented in the 800s, the most authentic symbol of Islam that only Al Qaeda and
the radical Islamist are now bringing back and reviving to attack the western
United States.

HANNITY: All right, I appreciate you both being with us. I
wish I was wrong when the Arab Spring was happening. We’ve predicted the Muslim
Brotherhood would be in charge. We predicted a lot of this would happen. Most of
the mainstream media, the president, they all ignored what was obvious to those
of us who had eyes to see.
