Libya and Egypt Crises and solutions by Mike Ghouse

Comments Off on Libya and Egypt Crises and solutions by Mike Ghouse

Killing of
Ambassador Stevens, Film on Muhammad and the attacks on our Embassy in Benghazi
and Cairo messes up the average person. Indeed, there is a pluralistic solution
available to the situation, it is much better than the show-off who can do most
harm to each other. The solution is low cost, and is sustainable.
If
there were a foreign policy or religious crises, Mike Ghouse is called in to
offer pluralistic solutions on issues of the day. Part of the solution was taped
in our Dallas offices by Bud Gillette of CBS News and shared it on the evening
News, and due to President’s speech last night on Hannity, Mike’s offer to
present a long term solution to the crises did not happen, and however, he
intends to present some of the solutions in a paper, most likely to be published
in Huffington Post,
meanwhile he is available to offer solutions.

It
started on 9/11/2001 when Mike was called in by Radio station AM1150 to take
charge and make sense. For the next eight hours Mike got the community, civic
and business leaders to get on the radio and bring some coherence to the chaotic
situation of the day – at the end of the day, people were driven to donate
blood, hold interfaith prayerss and raise funds for the victims.

Now
Mike will write a full report at Huffington post, meanwhile, he will offer
valuable solutions on Radio and TV networks about the value of freedom of
expression, the film on Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), our foreign policy, bullying,
war or long term solutions for the safety and security of America.

Quraan, Islam and Muslims
defend the right of individuals; the acts of the rogues clearly violate the
guidelines laid out by God, Prophet Muhammad and Islam. Muslims throughout the
world have condemned this disgusting behavior of these men who killed our
Ambassador and four of our officers serving us, and have scaled our embassy in
Cairo.
The
bully in us wants to bomb and annihilate the whole country of Libya and Egypt.
We probably can do that, but remember two outcomes from it. Our violence
generates more violence and will make us more vulnerable wherever we go. That is
not the kind of life we want live. We are a free people and must preserve our
freedom through wisdom, or the destruction of others will destroy us and our
economy as we are living it now. The bully among those radicals has similar
sentiments about us. How do we come out of it? Jesus and Muhammad both have
taught us how to handle this.

As
a society we can view these incidents from two different perspectives, and
consider two different solutions. Blaming Islam is the useless thing to do.
Islam did not authorize them do what they have done; they have done it on their
own. Each one of the 312 Million Americans follows the same criminal laws; 99%
of us obey them, where 1% doesn’t. We don’t blame our laws for those that don’t
abide by them; we blame the bad guys and incarcerate
them.
The
bad guys went crazy upon the trailer of the film Mohammad. Did
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) authorize what they did? Did Quraan authorize what they
did? Absolutely not, on the contrary Quraan is absolutely clear – if someone
insults you, don’t carry on the conversations with them and adds, if you insult
others, they will insult you.

The
criminals are always good in blaming someone else – in this case Islam. We
should not be gullible enough to buy their argument and start barking at
religion instead of the criminals.

Freedom of speech and
expression is the most sacred value of civilizations, and at no cost we need to
compromise on them. What the dumb men did not realize is that they are actually
promoting the movie by their violence. Had they chosen to follow the guidance of
Quraan, to walk away from it, none of this would have happened.

The
evil things we do are not Christian, Jewish, Islamic or Hindu in nature, they
are our acts, and each one of us who violates the sanctity of life, liberty and
pursuit of happiness of others need to be rounded up, instead of killing and
getting killed and living in fear that is the responsible thing to
do.

Stereotyping Muslims don't make sense

Comments Off on Stereotyping Muslims don't make sense

Every day I encounter men and women who are afraid of Islam, and I will do my best to allay the fears, rather their phobias.  I will make a few attempts, if they are determined not to see another point of view, I pray for them and leave the door open to be loving persons again, whenever it hits upon them, it is good to be  a good being.

My conversation with a Joe on face book resulted in posting the following.
Joe, who is flawed, individual, religion or the law books?
If a single mother were to ask you, if she is safe to go to New
York?

Based on statistics below, would you say – don’t go to New York, they are
murderers. In 2010 they murdered 866 people, and sure don;’t go there, they are
rapists, they raped 2, 771 women.

New York (2010) –  2,771 Rapes – 866
Murders – 64,973 bugalries
http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/nycrime.htm
Likewise, if someone advises against going to Dallas, my
City, I will say baloney. I have been living here for over 30 years, Rape and
Murder is a shameful fact of life, but thousands that I know for a long time,
go to work and come back home.  (Although
one of my friends was shot two nights ago when he was on his way to the bank)
Dallas (2010) – 505 Rapes – 148 Murders – 19,594 Burglaries
http://www.city-data.com/crime/crime-Dallas-Texas.html
IS THE FLAW IN THE LAW BOOKS OR THE INDIVIDUALS?

3 Million (9/10th of 1%) Americans are incarcerated, is it fair for
the Russians to say, don’t go to America, they are criminals. Are all Americans
Criminals, or the less than a percent of individuals?  Same laws apply to the violators as well as law
abiding citizens, yet some violated and you and I have not. 1% does not abide,
while the 99% does abide – does it make sense to declare that our laws are
flawed?

Nuclear Power lights up our homes and offices in the
hands of good engineers, the same nuclear power can kill millions – who do you
blame, Nuclear power or the (ab)user?
1/10th of 1% of Muslims are extremists, and
same percent is good for all groups, be it religious, racial or ethnic…   is it the
religion or the individuals?
Have you seen the statistics on Muslims protesting worldwide?
Its 0.001%
I hope you consider reassessing your hate for Muslims or
any one. Finding the truth is your own responsibility, and when you do find the
truth, your anxiety, apprehension and fear recedes and you will have a
different language.

I am a Muslim and I have contributed at least my personal share of work in
making America a better place for every one of us – in building a cohesive
America, where no American has to live in apprehension or fear of the other.

I urge you to re-evaluate, if you are serious about understanding, I will be
happy to address your concerns about Islam and Muslims

Google rejects White House request to yank the trailer innocence of Muslims

Comments Off on Google rejects White House request to yank the trailer innocence of Muslims

I was really surprised the white house had asked Google to take out the film clip on Muhammad from YouTube.  But I can see it as a responsibility of the state to protect her citizens, and if this is what it takes to save the lives of Americans elsewhere, it may be considered as a short measure.

I hope the rejection sends a clear message to other nations that even the President of America cannot meddle with the freedom of speech guaranteed in our constitution. So, it is not America, it was the individual who made the movie, that is our culture and that is a norm in our society.

In behalf of the World Muslim Congress, a think tank and a discussion forum, I  condemn the movie, a disgusting movie. The killing of our Ambassador Christopher Stevens in Benghazi and his staff is not acceptable and the criminals must be hunted down and punished. The violence that has erupted from the trailer of the film Mohammad is abhorrent and condemned by Muslims without a reserve.

Those Muslims who murdered Ambassador Christopher Stevens and four staff members, were purportedly defending the name of Prophet Muhammad, have done the exact opposite of their intention; tarnish the name of the prophet.

We cannot compromise on the core value of our civilization; freedom of expression. It is not what the bad guys say or do, it is what “you do”  that matters. Quraan has great advice on that – to paraphrase the verse; if someone mocks God and the prophet, politely get out of the discussion, and it further advises, if you mock other people’s way of worship, they are bound to say similar things about your faith and the situation gets worse.

The freedom ultimately triumphs, restrictions are not good for anyone in the long haul. I would not want America to be any different than the America that beckoned me. I don’t want America to become a Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Sudan or an Iran where harassment of the minorities is routine. Shamelessly the harassment is part of their constitution. Once again, it is against the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, who said no man is superior to the other and runs like the equal opportunity statement.

As an American and a Muslim, I will stand by the wisdom of the founding fathers of this nation. No compromise on free speech, even if it maligns my faith. By the way my faith is not weak to get maligned by idiots, its been around for 1400 years and God willing it will be there through the Day of Judgment,  and no one can hurt it. God protects it.

The violent eruptions in the world cannot go on, and together, we the community of nations must close the loop, and restore justice to build a cohesive world, where no one, (particularly the minorities) has to live in fear of the other.

In the long run, we should never compromise on a good thing that is the bedrock of civilizations; freedom of expression.

The Muslim Brotherhood surprised me with the following statement by Dr. Mahmoud Hussein, Secretary-General of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, “affirmed that when the group called for today’s rallies in front of mosques across Egypt, in honor of the Messenger of God, its objective was to allow all Egyptians to express the anger and outrage felt by all Egyptians, in peaceful demonstrations outside mosques all over the country, and not focus on Tahrir Square alone.” They even guaranteed freedom of expression.

John Stuart Mill published a book on liberty in 1859 that has become a classic defense of the right to freedom of expression. “Mill argued that truth drives out falsity, therefore the free expression of ideas, true or false, should not be feared.” Mill also argued that “free discussion is necessary to prevent the deep slumber of a decided opinion”. And, “An opinion only carries intrinsic value to the owner of that opinion, thus silencing the expression of that opinion is an injustice to a basic human right.” For Mill, the only instance in which speech can be justifiably suppressed is in order to prevent harm from a clear and direct threat. Neither economic nor moral implications, nor the speakers own well-being would justify suppression of speech.”

Blaming Islam is the useless thing to do, Islam did not authorize them do the wrong they have done. They have done it on their own. Each one of the 312 Million Americans follows the same criminals laws, 99% of us obey them, where 1% doesn’t. We don’t’ blame our laws for those that don’t abide by them; we blame the bad guys and incarcerate them.

The criminals are always good in blaming someone else, in this case Islam. We should not be gullible enough to buy their argument and start barking at religion instead of the criminals.

Prophet Muhammad had said, “if you are unjust to a fellow being, a non-Muslim, by God on the Day of Judgment, I will stand against your and stand up with the victim.” That was a strong warning that these criminals did not heed.

Quraan 5:8, “O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm for Allah , witnesses in justice, and do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is acquainted with what you do. (al-Ma’edah 5:8)”

Had Muslims not made a big deal out of it,  no one would have known about the film and no one would have seen Muslims in bad light.

Islam is the biggest beneficiary of free speech. Can you imagine a Christian, Hindu or other preaching his religion openly in Muslim nations? On the other hand, it is the free speech in Europe and Americas that has allowed allowed the business of conversions to thrive.

Islam is a beautiful religion to me, to make me a better human and a better citizen. Islam is not about governance, as we stand, we cannot and will not have the Islamic government in the spirit it was conceived, all we get would be ugly versions of imposing and dictating others and telling who or who is not a Muslim.

Our values are agreed upon through consensus, Ijma as we call it in Islam, and will keep the society in equilibrium and as God created us; free.

Freedom of expression must be defended and protected.

Google rejects White House request to pull Mohammad film clip
SAN FRANCISCO | Sat Sep 15, 2012 3:34am IST
(Reuters) – Google Inc rejected a request by the White House on Friday to reconsider its decision to keep online a controversial YouTube movie clip that has ignited anti-American protests in the Middle East.
The Internet company said it was censoring the video in India and Indonesia after blocking it on Wednesday in Egypt and Libya, where U.S. embassies have been stormed by protestors enraged over depiction of the Prophet Mohammad as a fraud and philanderer.
On Tuesday, the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and three other Americans were killed in a fiery siege on the embassy in Benghazi.
Google said was further restricting the clip to comply with local law rather than as a response to political pressure.
“We’ve restricted access to it in countries where it is illegal such as India and Indonesia, as well as in Libya and Egypt, given the very sensitive situations in these two countries,” the company said. “This approach is entirely consistent with principles we first laid out in 2007.”
White House officials had asked Google earlier on Friday to reconsider whether the video had violated YouTube’s terms of service. The guidelines can be viewed here
Google said on Wednesday that the video was within its guidelines.
U.S. authorities said on Friday that they were investigating whether the film’s producer, Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, a 55-year old Egyptian Coptic Christian living in Southern California, had violated terms of his prison release. Basseley was convicted in 2010 for bank fraud and released from prison on probation last June.

CBS News – North Texas Reaction To Deadly Libyan Protests

Comments Off on CBS News – North Texas Reaction To Deadly Libyan Protests

http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2012/09/12/north-texas-reaction-to-deadly-libyan-protests/

DALLAS
(CBSDFW.COM)
– Protests in
Egypt and Libya may not have been tied to a controversial movie after all. U.S.
intelligence officials think they may have been planned for some time,
especially the attack in Libya that took the life of the U.S. ambassador
there.
How
should Americans sort through all of this to decide what it means? We asked for
guidance from the political science department at U-T Arlington. Associate
Professor Brent Sasley suggests we understand that America doesn’t have the
influence there it once had.
“In
some ways it’s not surprising,” Sasley says of the attacks. “You should take
that America’s moment in the Middle East is changing. That things are never
going to be the same.”
He
believes incidents like this on a smaller scale have been brewing a long time,
especially among the Salafist sect of ultra-conservative Muslims. “And we’ve had
signs that this kind of widepread dissatisfaction has been there for this whole
time.”
He
agrees with U-S officials, that while the Egyptian protest may have used the
film to justify a pre-planned protest, the killings in Libya were much more
sinister and that al-Qaede may have played a role.
According
to Sasley, “It looks like new evidence is coming out that the protests and riots
in Libya are not due to the video and the movie, but that the movie was used as
a cover. These protests were pre-planned, and there may even have been a
pre-planned attack on the consulate.”
Meantime
Mike Ghouse, local spokesman of the World Muslim Congress think tank, cautions
not to condemn the Muslim faith, which he claims is being misused by 1% of its
followers. “Right now, the 1% in Islam are very loud, very vociferous, very
violent; it is a shameful thing,” according to Ghouse.
He
condemns the killings and wants the attackers brought to justice, pointing to a
verse in the Koran which says killing one person is like killing the whole of
humanity.
“But
what these criminals do is wrong. And we, as a society need to not buy their
argument that, ‘I’m doing it for Allah, I’m doing it for Mohammad,’ No! They’re
not doing it for them, they’re getting their frustration out and using this
excuse. We shouldn’t buy that, we should say, ‘You are a damn criminal.’”
A
Muslim himself, he believes even some religious leaders have it all wrong.
“There are idiots out there calling themselves Imams that are issuing
Fatwahs…they’re wrong, dead wrong. Read to me…where do you find this violence in
the Koran? If it is not in the Koran, where are you coming from?”
Ghouse
makes this charge to anyone using his holy book to promote violence. “You can
use any excuse but that is not what your religion teaches; show me in the Koran
that it tells me you can do what you’re doing. If we take that approach we can
find many solutions.”

Dallas, Texas – September 12, 2012

In behalf of the World Muslim Congress, a think tank and a discussion forum, Mike Ghouse condemned the killing of our Ambassador Christopher Stevens in Ben Ghazi, Libya, Mr. Ghouse said,”This is not acceptable and the criminals must be hunted down and punished”.  He also said that the violence that has erupted from the trailer of the film Mohammad is abhorrent and condemned by Muslims without a reserve.
As a society we can view these incidents from two different perspectives, and consider two different solutions.
Ambassador Christopher Stevens

Blaming Islam is the useless things to do, Islam did not authorize them do the wrong they have done. They have done it on their own. Each one of the 312 Million Americans follows the same criminals laws, 99% of us obey them,  where 1% don’t. We don’t’ blame our laws for those that don’t abide by them; we blame the bad guys and incarcerate them.

The bad guys went crazy upon the trailer of the film Mohammad Did Prophet Muhammad authorize what they did? Did Quraan authorize what they did? Absolutely not, on the contrary Quraan is absolutely clear – if someone insults you, don’t carry on the conversations with them and adds, if you insult others, they will insult you.

The criminals are always good in blaming someone else, in this case Islam. We should not be gullible enough to buy their argument and start barking at religion instead of the criminals.

Quraan is absolutely clear – Killing one person is like killing the whole humanity, and saving one life is like saving the whole humanity. Neither Islam, nor Allah, nor Quraan authorized these rogues to do what they have done. We need to get them and not others. Why should a religion be responsible for your bad acts?

Quraan 5:32 “Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors.

And fear Allah ; indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what you do. (al-Ma’edah 5:8)”

The bully in us wants to bomb and annihilate the whole country of Libya. We probably can do that, but remember two outcomes from it – i) Our violence generates more violence, and will make us vulnerable wherever we go. That is not the kind of life we want. We are a free people and must preserve our freedom through wisdom, or the destruction of others will destroy us and our economy as we are living it now.
Freedom of speech and expression is the most sacred value of civilizations, and at no cost we need to compromise on them. What the dumb men did not realize is that they are actually promoting the movie by their violence. Had they chosen to follow the guidance of Quraan, to walk away from it, none of this would have happened.

The evil things we do are not Christian, Jewish, Islamic or Hindu, they are our own mistakes, and we are responsible for it individually.

There is a pluralistic solution to every issue, indeed a cost-effective solution.  I intend to offer in  tonight on Hannity Show, a part of the solution was taped in Dallas offices by Bud Gillette of CBS News in for their Evening News.

9/11 Anniversary Response – CBS-11 News

NOTE: ALMOST EVERY PIECE ON THIS BLOG IS WRITTEN BY ME, THIS ONE IS NOT, BUT IT IS ABOUT WHAT WE DO.

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – On the 11th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist
attacks, some memorials were different this year.
Only 300 people gathered at the site of the
World Trade Center in New York; politicians didn’t speak, either. And
ceremonies at the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania were more subdued as well.
At the 8th annual Unity Day USA service in
Dallas, about 100 people gathered to celebrate one thing that united us that
terrible day: that Americans of all faiths and backgrounds are still Americans.
America Together Founder, and Master of
Ceremonies, Mike Ghouse explains the importance of tolerance. “9-11 is gone,
Osama is dead and I’m glad he is gone. It brought us a relief to the world and
that is the relief we need to celebrate that we—it’s time for us to heal.”
He is also lobbying for a federal law to honor
the date “Where we can proclaim this as a national day where Americans can come
together to celebrate unity and also rededicate our pledge for the safety and
security of all nations.”
The Unity Day USA service honored the Sikh faith
in the aftermath of massacre in Wisconsin this year; also honored, Ahmadiyya
Muslims, who are donating 11,000 pints of blood as a September 11th
remembrance.
Sam Madden, a Christian, explains why he brought
his 13-year-old daughter, Mary. “The theme of Unity Day, of bringing different
faiths together, and educating my daughter that we’re all God’s children,”
according to Madden, who adds, “Jesus would have love for all mankind and I try
to teach her that.” Daughter Mary is just 13 but has definite thoughts on 9-11.
“Back then we used to be far away; now it seems closer since it happened.”
“Always, anniversaries are very difficult” said
Peter Stewart of the Thanksgiving Square Foundation in Dallas, “because
peoples’ memories are fastened on the moment.” He adds, “I think the memory
needs to be kept fresh.”
At the newly-opened Veterans Resource Center in
Oak Cliff, the flame of remembrance still burns very brightly for the men and
women who served. “I think they’re very important because it keeps it on the
mind of the people,” said Kennard Bowlen, a retired U.S Air Force veteran.
“We cry about it.” Adds Delbert Ford, who was
among some 200 veterans and volunteers commemorating the day. His niece just
missed being aboard one of those fateful flights. Also a Christian, he
nonetheless believes vigilance is necessary. “I pray to our God in heaven
that nothing like that ever happens again but I also hope that we’ll be strong
and be able to stand up.” And to remember going forward, he says.
